Hi, Spencer. I spoke with you and your Dad as we were walking down the street from La Zona Rosa. I think your story is amazing and your accomplishments (beating leukemia and riding the 65k) are something to be proud of.

I will be writing for a blog for Examiner.com about HIV/AIDS issues in the Austin area. I plan to occasionally write about the people who make the fundraising events so special and memorable, and you certainly fit that description. Not sure when things will go live, but I've bookmarked your blog and will let you know the URL once it's online.

I look forward to my first time riding this year, and know that it would be an honor to lose to a ten-year old!

Wow. Kids are crazy. I was dying at 30 miles and barely dragged in at 43. Congrats on having such an awesome boy!

Hill Abell and I were on our way back in from the 100 mile course and saw Spencer at the 65 mile turn around point. He looked strong and fresh at 40 miles and it was a windy day with plenty of hills. What a great accomplishment and bravo Dad for getting out there too.

Congratulations again and we'll see you next year.
